BTAC is a nonprofit art center housed in the beautiful Bloomington Civic Plaza. BTAC exhibits work by local and regional artists in two galleries, the Inez Greenberg Gallery and the second-level Atrium Gallery. Exhibitions are always free and the facility provides ample free parking. Year-round classes are offered in visual and performing arts for all ages and skill levels, including workshops by nationally known artists. In addition, BTAC features two theaters staging eight live theater productions each year. BTAC’s focus is on presenting high-quality theater and arts programs featuring talented emerging and established artists.

The FrameWorks showcases an eclectic collection of work by a variety of talented local artists. There is a new featured artist in the front third of the gallery every six to eight weeks, with an opening reception to celebrate the beginning of each new exhibit. The remainder of the gallery is filled with a rotating selection of art in a diverse range of styles and media including all manner of painting, photography, print making, glass and ceramics, usually representing 12 to 18 artists at any given time. The Phipps Center for the Arts, a multi-disciplinary art center located on the St. Croix River in downtown Hudson, is dedicated to celebrating the creative spirit. Robbin Gallery is a local nonprofit artists’ cooperative gallery with a mission to bring art to the community while helping artists grow and learn to develop. At home in the historical Robbinsdale, Minnesota library building, the Robbin Gallery hosts eleven exhibits each year including two member shows and the Extremely Minnesota juried regional exhibition. Eight special exhibits each year allow groups of artists or emerging individuals the opportunity to display and promote their artwork. Robbin Gallery shows a wide range of artwork during the year.

Savage Art Studios & Gallery (SASG) has been located in the heart of the Minnesota River Valley, in historical old downtown Savage, since 2006. The American Museum of Asmat Art (AMAA@UST) features works collected by Crosier Fathers and Brothers, the Diocese of Agats and recent purchases made possible by generous contributions from AMAA@UST supporters. Traditional objects such as shields, drums and bowls reflect intimate connections between carvers, the people who use the object and the ancestral spirit(s) the object celebrates. More recent works, such as a woven shield by Josita Kayoa reflect the innovative qualities of Asmat art today. The AMAA@UST Walking Tour features art in the Brady Education Center, the O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library, the John R. Roach Center for Liberal Art, and the O’Shaughnessy Educational Center.

The Weisman is housed in a striking stainless steel building designed by Frank Gehry, which was recently renovated and reopened in October 2011.
