Common Room

Common Room is a unique, curated gathering and performance space created to facilitate small-scale interactive programs that blur the boundaries between curator, performer and audience member. Set in the one-time administrative offices of the National Purity Soap Company, Common Room is a fully furnished 1940s-style workplace that acts as a staging area for art events, twice a week in August.

Approximately 19,000 individual photographs make up Kiera Faber's stop-motion animation film, Living Organics / 09.01.29. About eleven minutes in length, the film is comprised of a world where appearances are deceiving. Exploring themes of trust and loss, Faber has constructed an environment where innocence and evil combine in a strangely alluring space.
