Could Your Art Be the Face of the Next Uptown Art Fair?
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Uptown Art Fair Hosts Second Annual Commemorative Print Contest
The Uptown Art Fair--celebrating its 47th year August 6 through 8, 2010-- takes over the commercial district of Uptown, Minneapolis. What began as a neighborhood art sale just down the block from what is now Calhoun Square, has now developed into a nationally recognized event. Hosting 360 artists, the Uptown Art Fair caters to tourists, art enthusiasts, artists, and festival-goers from around the country, and is the major fundraiser for the Uptown Association.
The Uptown Art Fair annually selects a piece of art to commemorate the event. The work is transformed into a poster unveiled prior to the fair and incorporated into promotional materials and merchandise available to the over 375,000 fair attendees. Being named the Uptown Art Fair Commemorative Artist is a coveted honor accompanied by recognition from the public and abundant media exposure.
For the second year in a row, the Uptown Art Fair Steering Committee is hosting a contest to select the Uptown Art Fair commemorative artwork. Artists must create a piece interpreting this year’s theme- “Urban Experiences.” The commemorative print artist is required to tender all ownership and copyrights of the selected image to the Uptown Association.
